| About Us DB Accounting is dedicated to providing quality service with integrity. Denise M. Bowles is a native North Carolinian and has been providing accounting services in the triangle area in excess of 30 years. DB Accounting was formed in April 2002 after years of working for firms and seeing the need for experienced accounting services when a small firm's budget did not merit a full time position. Initially, experience was gained from the construction industry working with architects, engineers, general contractors and subcontractors. Working with larger contractors such as J M Thompson and Bobbitt & Associates emphasized even more the importance of attention to job costing. Without regular budget reports and analysis, a multi-year project can become a financial drain long before the contract is complete. Employment in the offices of a real estate developer and property manager provided financial knowledge of multiple accounts owned by various entities and the inner-company transactions required to record the funds. Non-profit accounting can sometimes prove a challenge. Denise
has recently completed the AICPA's Not-for-Profit Certificate I,
which requires the understanding of the nonprofit's unique financial
reporting. DB Accounting has experience with numerous
nonprofit associations, serving as Treasurer on the Board of
Directors for several groups through the years, including the
Raleigh Chapter of the National Association of Women in
Construction. Recently Denise served as contracting Finance
Officer with the Center for International Understanding and NC
Child. With C.O.N.C.E.R.T. she managed records and grant
requests for multi-year DPI Century 21 reimbursable grants for
multiple sites. |
